Journaling
Aside from praying and reading God's word, journaling has got to be one of the most freeing things I have done with my quiet time. Principle 7 states that we are to "Reserve a daily time with God..." and that we are to take a "personal inventory." At the beginning of my quiet time I sit down and write about my day. This journaling is one way I let go of the bad aspects of my day so that I can rest at night, but it also puts my day back into perspective when I balance it with the good things I have done that day. Then I end my quiet time with prayer and Bible reading. This clears my mind and also helps me to deal with what did or didn't happen in my day. This way I not only identify my character defects, I can deal with them promptly and ask for God's wisdom and help in doing so. When I lay my day down at God's feet, I surrender it and all that was in it to His care and control. Focusing on God's will for my life then lends me the freedom to walk in the steps He has ordained for my life.

Journaling is one of the greatest tools of CR. Now I look back at my older journals and am amazed. Jesus is amazing!!!!! I agree, if you are not journaling, try it. It really works!
I journal on a daily basis. Sometimes it may only be a couple of sentences long, other days it may be 3 pages. But Im always Thanking the Lord for recovery and faith!!!
i used to journal because pastor kent suggested it to us one day in church but i have gotten away from it. thanks to veiwing this today i will start it back again. it does make a difference when u look back at your journey with the lord and its in your own writing it helps you to remember what all he has brought you through. it helps give you faith and hope for the next season in your life.
